2016 Youth Writing Contest

Hey kids, looking to flex your creative muscles this summer and share a bit about yourself through your writing?

The McAllen Public Library, in conjunction with the McAllen Book Festival, is excited to announce the 2016 Youth Writing Contest. It is open to children and teens ages 6 to 18 years of age. This year’s writing theme is “A time that I’ve been challenged and how I overcame it.”

The contest opens on Friday, July 1st, 2016 and closes on Thursday, September 1st, 2016 by 5:00 PM.

Winning submissions will be showcased in the McAllen Public Library. Winners will also have the opportunity to read their submission at the McAllen Book Festival.
