On Election Day, you must vote at the polling location in the precinct where you are registered to vote.
If you are registered to vote in Hidalgo County, you can find your polling location here.
The law about what kind of identification you need to bring to your polling location has recently changed, to include more options. The most up to date information can be found here.
Early voting occurs from Monday, October 24th through Friday, November 4th.
During early voting, you can vote at any early voting location in Hidalgo County (including the McAllen Public Library).
If you are 65 years or older, disabled, in jail but otherwise eligible, or live outside of the county in which you are registered to vote (like if you are a college student), you can still vote by Absentee Ballot.
You can print a PDF of the Application for a Ballot by Mail here. It must be stamped and addressed to the Early Voting Clerk of the county in which you are registered to vote. In Hidalgo County, this is:
PO Box 659
Edinburg, TX 78540
You can also send an online request for an Application for a Ballot by Mail to be mailed to you.
The Application for a Ballot by Mail must be received (not postmarked) by the Elections Administration office by Friday, October 28th.
A ballot will then be mailed to you.
Your ballot must be received (not postmarked) by the Elections Administration office by Tuesday, November 8th at 7:00pm.
