Here in the Rio Grande Valley, we are having an unusually cold winter. Between the cold temperatures, rain, and lack of sunlight, you might be spending more time at home. This can be a nice escape for a while, but you might be starting to get bored and feel cabin fever (especially if you have the cold that everyone is getting). When you don’t feel like going outside, but are going insane from boredom inside, don’t forget about all the things you can do from home with your MPL card! You can access free e-books, audiobooks, magazines, comics, music, and many other things without leaving the comfort of you own home. All you need is an MPL card, a tablet or computer, and an internet connection.

Watch a movie or documentary:

Read e-books and listen to audiobooks:

Libby and Overdrive– Enjoy over 10,000 e-books and audiobooks.

RBdigital– E-books and audiobooks that you can get if you have a different Hidalgo County library card.

TumbleBook Library– E-books just for kids, under the “For Children” section.

RBdigital– Check out our magazines! They don’t expire, and you can download an unlimited amount.
